Abstract

To realize Net-Zero Energy Building, the reduction of air-conditioning energies is indispensable, and reduction of outdoor air loads plays an important role in achieving this. In order to reduce outdoor air loads, a method using a cool tube is used. Thus far, extensive research on the reduction of the outdoor air loads by a cool tube has been carried out. However, compared with the surface temperature of a cool tube, the dew point temperature of the outdoor air is high in summer, and it causes dew condensation inside of the cool tube. In this case, there is the likelihood of microbial contamination. In this study, after clarifying the characteristics of the air temperature and relative humidity in cool tubes and the actual condition of bacteria and fungus contamination, the control methods of reducing the surface bacteria and fungus in cool tubes and airborne bacteria and fungus concentration at the exit of cool tubes were verified.
