<p>Dental implant treatment is a complicated therapy that combines oral surgery and prosthetic treatment and involves the risk of various medical accidents, including life-threatening ones. Thus, it is important that dentists are familiar with the unique procedures of implant surgery and have learned the basic methods of oral surgery. It is the mission of dentists to provide safe implant treatment to patients. This comprehensive review explains useful basic techniques of oral surgery for implant treatment and measures for preventing and dealing with medical accidents.</p>
