Abstract

There are some medical equipments of which treatment methods are complicated. Moreover,medical staffs often work at not so good condition from night shift, time pressure from the needs of emergent care of patients, and so on. To prevent from the medical accidents caused by human errors in the operation of medical equipments, any risks at the operation should be excluded, or at least be decreased, before increasing usability of the equipments. We proposed the evaluation method to clarify the risks at the operational procedure of medical equipments. This method was adapted to two types of medicine mixing tasks as medicine mixing with pre-filled syringes (PFSs) and those with ampoules. As the results of the theoretical analysis and experiments, PFSs are more effective than ampoules to reduce medical risks. It also turned out through the evaluation that such ergonomic improvement of the indication of contained medicine are recommended especially at ampoules.
