<p>In this study, the commercial thermo-fluid analysis software scFLOW was used to perform a numerical analysis of the cooling effect of water mist spraying accompanied by the ejection of compressed air from the nozzle. Firstly, a simple nozzle model was used to validate the influence of the sprayed water mist as well as the amount of water mist particles. As expected, the plate was much cooled when the amount of water mist increased. More realistic nozzle model was then used to conduct the cooling analysis for a heated plate. The result showed the vaporization of the water mist particles on the plate increased the cooling effect.</p>
