Abstract

Software-Defined Networking (SDN) is a new paradigm of network management that decouples the control plane and the forwarding plane. Although the forwarding elements can be managed by a unified control, complexity that arises from the network size and scalability regarding the increase of the control traffic is a notable problem. In this paper, we propose a dynamic configuration method of SDN architecture by means of a unified control based on information database systems. For this, we manage all network information in the database, and design control component that manages the whole network such as path calculation and resource management. We also show basic performance of our proposed method through a benchmark evaluation on our experimental OpenFlow-enabled network.
