Abstract
A propagation loss prediction formula contest is held. In this contest, the formula predicts propagation loss calculated using ray-tracing in a hypothetical urban environment. The formula construction based on ray-tracing is utilized for analysis of propagation in case that a prediction formula is constructed based on measurement results in actual environments. In this paper, the hypothetical environment is categorized into several situations classified according to the difference of dominant paths. The variables and their forms in the formula are determined based on physical considerations of dominant paths. The coefficients of the formula are obtained through optimization of the ray-tracing data.
