Abstract

We performed AMS14C-dating of twelve samples from the basin of Azuma River including HAP-1 and AKP-1 core samples, which were not 14C-measured in 2015 due to machine trouble with the Tandetron AMS system at Nagoya University. The sedimentary water condition of cores in the basin of the lower part of Azuma River changed from brackish to fresh at 0± meters above recent sea level at 5,700 BP. We drew sedimentation curves of the drilling core subject to AMS14C-dating and recovered the relative sea level change curve of the latest Pleistocene to Holocene deposits in the Atsuma area of Hokkaido by considering the sedimentation curves and sedimentary condition (depth of water).
