Description

The purpose of this study was to indicate how "human science" is described in Japanese language dictionaries based on search results using the National Diet Library Online．There were five descriptions of human science in Japanese language dictionaries in the National Diet Library Tokyo Pavilion. This paper examines how human science is positioned based on the characteristics of its descriptions in Japanese language dictionaries, such as the relationship between human science and humanities. Human science became popular and established in Japan after the 1970s. Descriptions of human science in Japanese language dictionaries indicate how human science is accepted and well-established in Japan.
