This paper introduces a traditional Japanese mathematical manuscript, Chinsai Junanako, 1687. This monograph is a collection of 48 problems as to various geometrical figures. The most notable article among them is the description of land survey utilizing the cross-staff. The author points out the establishment of this European instrument in Japan found during the 17th century.
