- Do junior high school students receive schoolcounseling? : on the troubles and consultations of junior high school students in the "psychologized" society of contemporary Japan

Description
The purpose of this study is to analyze the troubles and consultation of hunior high school students based on a questionnaire, from standpoint of their attributes, relationships, psychological knowledge, etc. Since the '90s, to aid children with emotional problems, school counselors have been actively introduces and the budget is increasing. But the number of children who aonsult school sounselors has not been revealed empirically. The folowing facts have been shown through a series of analuses. Most studnets with problems consult not the school counselor but their parents, friends and teachers who are familiar to them. Second, srudents who belong to the lower academic grade or track have no one to consult, including school counselors. School counselors have been introduced in increasing numbers, withoutregard to the realities of schools.
