本稿では,主題提示「って」の用法・機能について,「は」の主題提示用法と対照しつつ,また主題提示以外の「って」と関連付けて考察する。主題提示「って」の用法を考えるに当たって,まず,「って」で提示される要素(主題)が文脈・場面上,既出か否かという観点から分類を行う。そして,主題提示「は」と対照し,「って」と「は」の,主題提示の仕方の相違を見る。この相違は,助詞「って」「は」が互いに異なる機能を持つことによる。主題提示「って」は,主題提示以外の「って」と同じく,「引用」という機能を有している。

This paper examines the usage and function of topic marker tte, in contrast to topic marker wa and non-topic marker tte. First, topic marker tte is classified according to whether the entity followed by tte is known to the hearer in the context. Then tte is contrasted with topic marker wa, clarifying how they differ in marking topics. The author claims that this difference is due to the schematic functions of the postpositional particles tte and wa. Topic marker tte has the function of quoting, as does non-topic marker tte.
