The purpose of this study is to examine the current academic issues of care and support for deliberate self-harming(=DSH) children and students in school by reviewing a previous DSH studies. First, the authors examined the problem of definitions of DSH, and, then examined the actual conditions of DSH children and students and behavior problems related to DHS and its background factor. The results show the definition and incidence of DSH are so different according to studies, and there are some differences between the definition in medical studies and those in educational studies. The results reveal the possibility that some kind of DSH might be overlooked in school. In addition, examining behavior problems related to DSH and the factor enables teachers and Yogo teachers defect and treat DSH in its early stages through caring such behavior problems and factors. And through treating DSH, it is important for teachers and Yogo teachers to pay attention to family problems and psychological diseases of students. For future study of DSH, it is suggested that Yogo teacher should learn about the DSH through some training programs. It is necessary that studies be focus on commitments of general teachers to DHS students and their developmental process.
