The experimental study on boiling and condensation heat transfer in a horizontal smooth tube is conducted with pure refrigerants HFC134a,HCFC123 and HCFC22 using a water-heated double-tube type test section. The' teest tube is a copper tube of 8.40mm inside diameter. The local heat transfer coefficients are measured under both counter flow and parallel flow in the boiling experiments and only counter flow in condensation experiments. The experimental data are compared with proposed correlations, and some data are tabulated in Appendix.
