Description
Year-to-year variations in the Yellow River discharge and the primary production in the Bohai Sea were investigated based on the river discharge data and satellite images of SeaWiFS from 1998 to 2005. The yearly averaged chlorophyll a concentration at the central part of the Bohai Sea was high in the year when the Yellow River discharge was large and low in the year when that was small. This is due to that phosphate concentration in the Bohai Sea depended on the Yellow River discharge.
