The purpose of this study is to survey and analyze the relationship between child rearing stress, mentalhealth and self-disclosure of foreign mothers living in Japan, who are married to Japanese men. In this study, we consider that the basis for emotional support for foreign mothers is depepdent on the number of people with whom they are able toself-discloseand to consult. The same survey was conducted among Japanese mothers to compare with foreign mothers. THe main finding was that foreign mothers who have problems with child rearing stress and mental health tend to self-disclose more to tehir own parents, brothers and sisters. In addition , foreign mothers' self-disclosure to their husbands was significantly higher than that of Japanese mother. It was suggested that foreign mothers don't have as many good friends for self-dosclosure as compared to Japanese mothers.
