Description

One of the recent topics on urban transportation policy is the shift from car-oriented to transit-orierited under the background of the aged society and sustainable development intention in Japanese cities as well as in European cities. For clarifying the trend of urban transportation policy, we review the recent urban transportation policies of major cities, and categorize their implementation methods and systems. Based on these political trends stressing on the district-scale mobility, we analyze on the existing condition concerning the district-scale trips and human activities in Fukuoka City by utilizing the Person Trip (PT) Survey Data, which is the only useful trip data resource, as basic information for the district-scale transportation planning. As the results, we verify the potential district-scale traffic demands of the city through the statistic operation of the PT Survey Data in combination with other data resources.
