Abstract

This study aims investigation and recordation on the urgent recovery behaviors right after the earthquake in the struck farm villages and fishing villages, which are located in the West Ward of Fukuoka City, right after they were severely damaged by the West Off Fukuoka Prefecture Earthquake on the morning of March 20, 2005. Secondary, it aims to clarify how the communities acted immediately and how well the communities served as the internal-aiding systems inside these rural communities for urgent disaster recovery. Based on the analysis on these urgent behavior patterns, this paper suggests the factors of well organized actions in the emergency in the rural communities.
