Description

The aim of this study was to investigate the utilization of the fitness center on Chikushi campus, Kyushu University. Twenty seven users of the fitness center and fifteen non-users answered self-reported questionnaire including information about utilization characteristics, needs for using the fitness center, daily exercise habit, and psychological and behavioral factors of participation in exercise. The results implied that the fitness center contributes to maintaining regular exercise habit for users. Main purpose to use the facility was to gain their muscle mass and recreationally exercise. Approaches attracting interest of physical preparation and providing information are important for effective utilization of on-campus fitness center.
