Description

A mixed lumped- and distributed-equivalent circuit is proposed for a monoblock dielectric bandpass filter. The equivalent circuit consists of a multiconductor transmission line which models the characteristics of the inner part of the monoblock dielectric filter and lumped-constant capacitors which model the characteristics of electrodes on the upper surface. This paper first shows the characteristics measured at various upper surface electrodes on the monoblock filter. A numerical method of determining parameters of the above mentioned equivalent circuit on the basis of the measured data is also presented. Though the number of the parameters of the equivalent circuit are few in comparison with the complexity of the measured data, the calculated overall characteristics fit the measured one over a considerably wide frequency range.
