Description

Owing to the invasion of Chin 金 and fall of the Capital Kai-Fan 開封, the state examination could not be held in January of the first year of Chien-Yen 建炎. The Emperor Kai-tsung 高宗, for the sake of convinience, decided to conduct the examination on the responsibility of Chuan-Yün-Shih 転運使 instead of on the responsibility of Li-Pu 礼部. This examination was called Lei-hsêng-shih 類省試 or Lei-Shih 類試. In this treatise I intend to explain system and vicissitudes of Lei-hsêng-Shih in south-Sung dynasty.
