[ABSTRACT] I recorded this Itelmen text at Tigil village in Kamchatka (Russian Federation) in August 2011. This text is a narrative by Nadezhda Ivanovna Chatkina, an Itelmen woman born in 1937 in Sedanka-Ossedlaya village who spoke the Itelmen Northern Dialect (Sedanka Dialect). She explains how to dye reindeer skin black and red to make Itelmen boots called “Sareʔn.”
