Abstract

This study was conducted for collegiate American football players using a hop test in order to predict future lower limb injury such as ankle sprain or hamstring strain. The participants performed 2 kinds of Hop test before the 2008 season and were cut off by the average scores of hop tests. The result showed that there was significant difference in the number of injury between below-average and above-average groups. A hop test may open the possibility to be used as a screening test for lower limb injury.
