Description
Although there has been considerable research on sexual orientation and gender identity in recent years, little of this research has been in Japanese management and business administration. This study used Toyo-Keizai survey data from 2014 to 2018 to analyze how Japanese companies develop their basic policies and measures. Since 2014, measures related to sexual orientation and gender identity have been rapidly established in Japan. The main measure was diversity training. Recently, there has also been an increase in transgender inclusion measures, inhouse compliance consultation services, contributions to the LGBT community, benefits for same-sex partners of employees, and employment process measures. However, such "initiatives" could create new lines of demarcation among individuals who are non-heterosexual and non-cisgender.
