Abstract

Institute for Research in Humanities accepted the donation of the Yamamoto Akira Collection in 2016. Yamamoto Akira (1911-1977) was an activist and had represented the integrated organization of film audience circles at Osaka from 1949 to 1977. He had lead film circle movement, and had enthusiastically collected documents and literatures which have relation with his activity. Because he was both the central player and proactive collector, his collection is very valuable to know details about film circle movement of Kansai area. The Yamamoto Akira Collection includes a wide variety of documents and literatures, which were published by his own organization, the friendly circles, film companies and theaters. Now we are archiving and digitizing them for future reference and researches.
