地域キャラクターの一類型であるローカルヒーローについて，1980年代以降の歴史的展開について概観した。ローカルヒーローにおける主な特徴として，名称，ステージショー，地域色を取り上げ，それぞれの要素が何時ごろどのように登場し展開したのかを分析した。80年代前半までにこうした特徴は大手テレビヒーローのステージショーや自主制作映画，コスプレイヤーの活動の中で育まれ，2000年代前半までに現在に繋がるローカルヒーロー活動が始まったと考えられる。そして数の急増と共に，2000年代後半以降は多様化し，それまでの概念を覆す活動例が登場して，今日に到ると考えられる。One type of regional character, the"Local Hero" has historically been developed since the 1980s. I analyzed how the various elements of the Local Hero, such as title, stage performance, and way of presenting local color, appeared and developed through time. In doing so, I came to think that these features were first born in the stage versions of the heroes of major television productions, in independent movies, and in cosplay related activities. By the early 2000s, Local Hero performance that connects to the modern phenomenon emerged. Then, in line with the rapid increase in their numbers, the second half of the 2000s saw a diversification of the form, with examples that challenged the concept that had been prevalent to that point emerging, a phenomenon that continues to this day.
