[SUMMARY] In this paper, I focus on the derivation of Ainu verbs whose arguments are spaces and places. There are three types of morphological operations that increase this valency: (1) with an applicative prefix, (2) with a causative suffix, and (3) with no morphological change. And I pointed out that the difference between (1) and (2)is due to the difference in the argument structure before derivation.
