本研究では韓国人日本語学習者3名のインタビューデータを収集し,そこに現れる「説明」のモダリティ助動詞「のだ」の丁寧形「んです」について分析を行った。日本語学習者の「のだ」については回避(非使用)の傾向が見られる一方で過度に使用する学習者がいることも指摘されてきたが,本研究の調査の範囲では,1名の学習者に過度と思われる「んです」の使用が見られた。また,数値的には過度な使用が見られなかった学習者でも,談話中の一部に集中・連続して「んです」の使用が現れるケースがあった。これらの結果から,「んです(のだ)」の多用には学習者の言語処理ストラテジーが関与しているのではないかとの仮説を提起し,検討した。

The aim of this paper is to point out some characteristics of Korean JSL learners usage of ndesu form. Ndesu is the polite form of noda that is so called a modality form of explanation. It is said that there is a tendency for JSL learners to avoid using noda. On the other hand some learners seem to make over usage of it. In this study 3 Korean JSL learners' interview data was collected and the over usage of ndesu is found from one learner's data. And successive use of ndesu is found in another learner's data. These facts seem to show that some kind of language processing strategy drives learners to produce too many use of ndesu and noda.
