本稿の目的は､スクーパ･ダイビングというスポーツを行う人々の行為を解明し､その特徴が現代社会とどのように関連づけられるかを探ることにある｡ダイバーがどのような動機付けと社会的条件のもとにダイビングを行い､その結果として何を得ているかについて分析･考察を行う｡ダイビングを行う人々の行為分析であると同時に､ダイビングを通して現代日本社会のもつ問題を明らかにすることになる｡最初にダイビングをフローと位置づけ､次にカイヨワの遊びの概念を用いてダイビングの特徴を明からにする｡そして､ダイビングを特徴づける｢偶然｣と｢眩暈｣の要素から､現代社会とダイビングの関係性を論じる｡現代社会において､ダイビングがスポーツとして､遊びとしての､偶発性に左右され､自己を喪失させ､環境への融合を果たすという､優れた性質をもちながら､その感覚自体が社会制度へと回収されてしまっているではないかと分析している｡分析枠組みとして用いるのは､M.チクセントミハイのフロー概念､R.カイヨワの4つの｢遊び｣の類型､A.ギデンズの再帰性の概念である｡結論として､ダイビングを特徴づける偶然と眩暈の要素は､個人にとって､競争と管理､監視､ルーティンによって特徴づけられる日常から引き起こされる存在論的な不安を解消することになる｡結果的に､ダイバーが体験として行うダイビングは､現代社会に生きる個人の存在論的な不安を解消する制度として確立されている｡@@@In this paper, I discuss about the act of people playing SCUBA diving and the relation to the contemporary society. Divers' motivation and social condition are clarified by analysis of their performance and persons' consciousness, social problems in a contemporary Japan. At first I place a diving with a flow, and by use of a concept of the play of Caillois is described the characteristic of the diving. And, from concept of "Alea" and "Ilinx" characterizing a diving, I discuss the contemporary society and the relationship of the diving. I analyze diving as superior properties; the sports, the play. The diving is controlled for sports in this society by contingency as the play and losing self, and fusion to environment. I use a flow concept of M·Csikszentmihalyi, a type of four "play" of R･Caillois, a reflexivity of A·Giddens as an analysis frame. In conclusion, by elements of Alea and Ilinx the characterizing diving will cancel ontology uneasiness caused by daily life caused by competition and management, surveillance, a routine work. As a result, divers performance as an experience is established as social structure to cancel personal ontology in the contemporary society.
