Abstract
<p>This paper analyzes why Japan is lagging behind in DX (Digital Transformation) from the perspective of “Comparative Institutional Analysis", focusing on organizational structure, decision-making processes, and personnel systems. Discussions on DX are often based on Western companies, however, it is difficult to apply solutions to Japanese companies without ignoring the unique institutional background of Japan. We will clarify the current position of Japanese companies, including the causes of Japan's economic stagnation, and provide recommendations for promoting DX.</p>
