Abstract

The FDTD method has been applied to various complex problems because its algorithm is very simple, nevertheless, practical computational accuracy can be easily obtained. On the other hand, metamaterials have recently attracted significant attention as a new technology that has been widely developed in the fields of microwaves and antennas. In this paper, we describe a method to analyze the electromagnetic wave scattering characteristics of metamaterials using the FDTD method. In this paper, we also show a method for analyzing a periodic structure with non-periodic structures, such as antennas, and we will show the computational accuracy of the method.
