Abstract

<p>To assist the forefoot rocker in the gait of patients with hemiplegia, we developed a heel upper spring AFO (HUS─AFO) in which the foot part is equipped with an energy storage system to support heel elevation during the single stance phase. In this pilot study, we conducted a three-dimensional motion analysis in healthy volunteers wearing the HUS─AFO and confirmed the occurrence of forefoot rocker.</p>
