Abstract

This article introduces the illuminations in the passenger terminals in Tokyo International (Haneda) Airport, which has just opened in October, 2010. The illuminations were planned with the basic concept of "Wa (Japan/harmony)", and many devices for illuminations were implemented in different places to create the feel of "Japan". In the departure lobby with an open ceiling space covered by a large top roof, users can feel the natural light coming from the top light during the daytime. During the night time, the lobby is turned into a more poised space with illuminations of a color temperature of 3000K.
