<p>The regional energy generations and storages are very important to use the renewable energy in the SMART (Small Advanced Regional energy Technology) system proposed in 2004. The regional renewable energies, heat storage with heat pump, the batteries including EV (electric vehicle) and ship powers can be used in the system. The visualization system of energy usage is also important for the demand-side management. The system is also useful in disasters or accidents. In this paper, the following two functions of SMART system were experimentally confirmed. One is the emergency electricity supply by EV to a high-rise condominium to operate the elevator. The direct current of EV could be successfully transformed to the three-phases alternate current to activate the elevator. Another is the care of elderly people using the net electric meter. The activities of elderly people could be easily noticed with the meter, and the adequate cares were provided. The SMART system to use the renewable energy is useful even in the case of unexpected matters.</p>
