Description
It has been recognized that resonance, in which a shared mental image is formed and a creative psychological state resonates with others, is a qualitatively important phenomenon in creative collaboration. By using biosignal indicators to grasp resonance quantitatively, the authors ena-bled a methodological exploration of the interactions that foster the resonance. In this study, the authors attempted to capture creative psychological states with biosignal indicators by compar-ing multi-modal biosignal indicators such as electromyography (EMG) and electroretinography (EOG), measured during co-creative concept formation in pairs. The pair participants were asked to generate new concepts from two noun phrases, and to also report on how they per-ceived the creative psychological states and resonances experienced. As a result, differences between resonance and mere creative psychological states of two in a pair were captured by several biosignal indicators, such as the further activation of the orbicularis oculi muscle during resonance.
