Abstract

<p>The purpose of this paper is to focus on “NEMAWASHI”, which is one of the characteristics of group-oriented decision making that is often seen in Japanese companies, and to clarify how “NEMAWASHI” affects the innovation process. As a result of an interview with a key man who is using “NEMAWASHI” at a large Japanese company A, “NEMAWASHI” is three routes to realize “Creative justification of resource mobilization” (hereinafter abbreviated as “Creative justification”) required for successful innovation. While contributing to each of these, it was clarified that it can induce traps associated with the “Creative justification” process and can also be a factor that hinders “Creative justification”.</p><p>In addition, we newly found that “NEMAWASHI” has a learning effect of “NEMAWASHI” (improvement of the ability to search for appropriate counselors and key persons, and the ability to form human networks) and knowledge creation occurs in the process of “NEMAWASHI” as a function that was not discussed in “Creative justification”.</p>
