Description

“JIS B 0001: Technical drawings for mechanical engineering” provides convenient and useful standards. The 7 th revision of this document was published in 2019. However, the revised standards include several inappropriate applications of drawing rules. We cannot overlook the effects of these issues on education because of the possibility of students being taught something incorrect in classes. This article, with the subtitle “Who will correct logical deficiencies in commentaries and errors in prescriptions?”, discusses the origin of the errors in “Revised technical drawings for mechanical engineering”. An outline of our future research is also given in this article.
