Abstract

The Born approximation has been used for the reconstruction of a defect in elastic solids for last few decades. However, no numerical results can be found for the reconstruction of an inclusion in viscoelastic solids. Therefore, in this research, an inverse scattering formulation for an inclusion in viscoelastic solids is presented. The convolution quadrature time-domain boundary element method (CQBEM) is utilized to obtain scattered waves from an inclusion in viscoelastic solids. Numerical results show that our proposed method can reconstruct the shape of a circular inclusion in a viscoelastic solid.
