Abstract
<p>The purpose of this study is to compare the number of searches for the national and local versions of the route search service using search history data from the national version of the "NAVITIME" route search service and the local version of the "BUSNET" route search service. In the analysis, a bivariate state-space model was applied to account for the correlation between the two kinds of data. The estimation results were then used to characterize each and compare the two kinds of data. The analysis revealed that although the average characteristics of the national and local editions were similar, the characteristics of the day of week and days with sudden fluctuations in the number of searches were different.</p>
