Description

In order to achieve carbon neutrality for mitigating climate change, it is necessary to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions in households, and for this purpose, it is important to raise awareness and promote behavioral change among individuals. In this study, we examined the effectiveness of public awareness activities by conducting a secondary analysis of data from the implementation records of 160 activities conducted throughout Japan and the results of questionnaires answered by 8209 participants. The results of the analysis of variance showed that the basic factors of communication were statistically significantly related to the effectiveness of public awareness activities. In addition, the results of Hayashi’s quantification theory type-Ⅱ revealed that the level of practice of environmental behavior had a significant impact on the effectiveness.
