Abstract

In this study, a method of connecting the beam rebar by using a cast iron joint panel in the beam–column joint of the RC structure is proposed. Structural behavior of the beam–column joint is confirmed by tests and finite element analysis. From the tests and analysis, it can be seen that in the specimen with the cast iron joint panel, it is possible to effectively secure the compression strut in beam–column joint. In addition, methods to suppress the shear deformation of the beam–column joint with the cast iron joint panel were proposed.
