宮沢賢治の作品は、「色彩と光」の文学とよばれる。その色彩の中でもとくに青系統のものに彼の特質がうかがわれる。その意味で彼は「青型」の作家ともいえよう。この特質は、彼の全作品-短歌・詩・童話-についていえるものである。本稿では、彼の童話作品の中に見られる青系の色彩語をとりあげることによって賢治童話-ひいては賢治文学-の特質を検討したい。また、彼の作品の特質であるその多様性をさぐるために青系の色彩語による「空」の表現をとりあげた。

The works of Kenji Miyazawa are called "The Literature of Colour and Light". The characteristics of his literature are well expressed in the use of 'blue' among numerous colours. We are enchanted by the variety of his colour words. I intend to study the characteristics of his juvenile literature in terms of the colour word "blue"; especially, to search the variety of colour words in the description of "sky" in his works.
