本研究では,初等教育における伝統的な言語文化(特に日本古典文学)のマルチモーダルな指導法を探究した。作品は『平家物語』の「那須与一(扇の的)」,对象は第5学年である。授業では群読発表を単元のゴールに掲げ,古典文学の研究者による専門知の教授,漫画や映像教材を用いての内容理解の補助,作曲家による情景音楽の創作,重厚な音響装置を配置した音楽教室での成果披露など,多様な方法を採用した。活動後の感想からは情景音楽の活用によって古典との出会いがより豊かになったことが確認できた。本研究は言語にとらわれない古典文学教育の提茱である。

We experimented with a multimodal approach to educating respect for Japanese classical culture. We instructed 5th grade how to express the artistry of "Nasu no Yoichi" from Heike Monogatari (ie, The Tale of the Heike) through voice. To make the instruction effective, researchers of classical literature acted as teachers, and composers created scene music. In addition, we used cartoons and videos to deepen children's understanding. On the day of the concert, we played scene music using multifaceted and multi-layered sound equipment. The children demonstrated their vocal arts in a variety of ways that we provided. Many of the children described that the use of scene music made them more familiar with classical culture. We showed an example of a flexible method of instruction about traditional culture.
