Description
The present study examines landowners’ intention to continue land use in the area of rural exodus of the whole family. The case site is the area where many families abandoned farming villages during high economic growth in Niigata Prefecture, and there has been a concern about the absence of landowners since then. Following the categorization of landowners’ residence, the study focuses on the land rent payment method and field development to understand the relationship between landowners and farmers.
As a result, it was possible to achieve land improvement by building a relationship between landowners and farmers through rent payment and ensuring that the agricultural land was being used appropriately and not abandoned. The context is that the absentee landowner is from the area where farmland is.
On the contrary, it emerged that the problem of an absentee landowner could be manifested by the aging recipients and the change in the generation of landowners.
