Abstract

<p>The humanities and social sciences are developed across a wide range of topics and disciplines, making it difficult for universities and academic associations to take systematic action with a common view of the language used. This article discusses the current situation, challenges, and prospects for promoting the international academic contribution of Japan’s humanities and social sciences through a case analysis of education research. Graduate schools and academic societies responsible for training researchers are developing systems to provide early career researchers with guidance on writing papers in English. In order to make international academic contributions, it is necessary to engage in the international academic community in research frameworks and theories that go beyond writing techniques.</p>
