Abstract

With the increase in the number of robot-assisted surgeries, the number of laparoscopic surgeries has decreased markedly.

Radical prostatectomy, which used to account for the majority of operations on pelvic organs, has become a basic procedure in robot-assisted surgery, and radical cystectomy, also an operation on pelvic organs, is also rapidly gaining popularity.

It is no exaggeration to say that the standard operative method for pelvic organs is robot-assisted surgery.

However, it is necessary to perform laparoscopic surgery in institutions that do not have a robot-assisted surgical system or are not covered by insurance to perform robot-assisted surgery.

Robot-assisted surgery is considered to be a suitable surgery for surgical education because it enables a more detailed understanding of anatomy than laparoscopic surgery.

On the other hand, we need to be aware that laparoscopic surgery is performed by a team that includes assistants and techniques unique to laparoscopic surgery, such as suture techniques.
