Abstract

Users with illnesses or disabilities with the potential of chronicity and permanent vision loss, as seen in cases like glaucoma, can lead to anxiety or depression. So, users may require goals to overcome or accept their condition and connect with others and society. Therefore, we aspire to create a virtual collaborator (Enabler) who can provide continuous support and assistance to such users. We defined the essential requirements to achieve it, researched the requisite technologies, created the preliminary prototype, and conducted a simple evaluation. Our investigation has led us to conclude that the creation of a Virtual Enabler requires the identification of the user’s emotions, the exhibition of emotions that are supportive of the user, and the accurate comprehension of the user.
