Ultrafast EO Polymer Modulator: Realization of 100 Gbit/s OOK Transmission and Beyond

<p>An electro-optic polymer modulator was fabricated and demonstrated to generate reliable 56 Gbit/s OOK and 112 Gbit/s PAM-4 signals. Further development of a hybrid silicon and polymer waveguide modulator has led to the device exhibiting low-driving voltage and large-bandwidth properties, enabling ultra-fast signaling of up to 110 Gbit/s OOK. Additionally, no significant degradation of the electro-optic properties was observed within a temperature range of 85 °C to 105 °C.</p>
