Abstract

<p>This study proposes a method to evaluate the regional socio-economic impacts of constructing hydrogen supply chains using the regional input-output model we developed. As a case study of the application of the proposed method, we evaluated the economic impact of the hydrogen demonstration project in Miyagi Prefecture up to the year 2030. The results indicate that the majority of benefits are generated within the region during the O&M phase. However, they suggest that some industrial measures are needed in order to achieve greater economic benefits, since most of the benefits associated with equipment manufacturing flow out of the region.</p>
