Description

As a new residential component, the sunroom on Tibetan Plateau has led to contradictions between function and spatial forms. There is therefore a need to understand the sunroom houses from the aspect of local residences’ residential habits and common awareness. A detailed description of the mapped houses is presented, the functional layout and spatial form of sunroom houses are summarized, and the spatial order of residences is analyzed. Results shows that the sunroom serves as a primary living space and is well integrated into the original inner logic of the residence, but there are still some unreasonable aspects. Results not only provide information for future thermal environment monitoring and simulation of sunroom but also provides practical suggestions for the improvement of it from the aspect of architectural culture.
