Description

In the summer of 1998, Arsenic curry murder case happened in a small town in Wakayama, Japan. Four people were killed by eating the curry, into which someone put arsenious oxide, served at a festival site. High-energy Synchrotron Radiation X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analysis utilizing 115 keV X-rays from SPring-8 played decisive role in revealing this crime. This article explains that how synchrotron XRF was useful to analyze the material evidences.
